Assyrians and Babylonians conquered the two Jewish Kingdoms the Jews created- Judea and Israel.
Persians came and conquered this land from the Assyrians and Babylonians.
Alexander The Great conquered it from Persians and took the land
Romans conquered it from Greeks and later renamed Judea and Israel "Palestine".
Arabs conquered it in the 7th century. Their rule in Palestine lasted less than 300 years, and after that the Turks conquered it from Arabs and sat there until the 19th century, almost 600 years. All the land belonged to the Turkish government and Turkish landlords who rented it to the poor fellahins- peasants.

Jews managed to get the land back after Turkey was defeated in WW1.

Thats assuming that religion can lay claim to an area, and that goverments who claim seperation from church and state would recognize it.

Judaism hasn't laid claim to the area. Muslims and Christians are full citizens.
It's just meant to be a country where Jews can be free from oppression.

Because the US and SA and China And Japan and South Korea, and EU, and Nepal,etc. all have them lining up in the gas chambers, have "seperate but equal" facilities for jews, and or use them as slaves.
