- The mexican government, especifically high officials ranging from the president Felipe Calderón himself to other high functionaries from the PGR and other organizations, request technological help to US officials whenever they can.

- Former government sub-secretary, Jerónimo Gutiérrez has admitted that the mexican government has completely lost control of various zones. This hasn't been affirmed by any other mexican authority in public news.

- Washington does not trust Mexico's efforts against the narcos, due to internal rivalries between security corps, official corruption and the Mexican Army's incapacity to incriminate detainees.

- However, the US embassy's criticism to the Army contrasts with its praise for the Mexican Navy, which is mostly due to the capture of Beltrán Leyva months ago. This was possible thanks to information provided by the US regarding Leyva's location.
